B&I Contractors, Inc. is seeking an experienced Sheet Metal Journeyman to join our dynamic and expanding team. As a leading mechanical contractor in Florida, we specialize in large-scale commercial projects and offer a range of benefits and opportunities for growth.
Key Responsibilities:- Assemble, install, and repair sheet metal products and equipment such as ductwork, fittings, fans, dampers, and air distribution.
- Install duct, accessories, and equipment at the jobsite according to blueprints and specifications.
- Properly and safely use hand tools and portable power tools.
- May be required to work with Sheet Metal Helpers and Apprentices to provide training, oversight, and instruction to ensure teammates are performing tasks safely, per SMACNA and project specifications.
- Minimum of four (4) years working in the field and/or sheet metal shop.
- Comprehension of SMACNA standards.
- GED or High School Graduate Preferred.
- Understand how to measure ducts for fabrication, make field modifications, and install ducts by Shop Blueprints.
- Work skillfully with tools, metals, and machines.
- Perform a variety of duties which may change often.
- Understand English, follow, and provide directives to assigned helpers.
- Comply with all B&I safety procedures.
- Drug test, background check, and a clean driving record are pre-employment requirements.
