Sheet Metal Journeyman Opportunity

B & I Contractors, Inc. is seeking an experienced Sheet Metal Journeyman to join our dynamic team. As a leader in mechanical contracting, we specialize in large-scale commercial projects and offer a comprehensive benefits package, including employer-paid health insurance, accrued vacation, and sick time, along with a wellness reimbursement program and 401(k) plan with company match.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assemble, install, and repair sheet metal products and equipment, including ductwork, fittings, fans, dampers, and air distribution systems.
  • Install duct, accessories, and equipment at the jobsite according to blueprints and specifications.
  • Properly and safely use hand tools and portable power tools.
  • May be required to work with Sheet Metal Helpers and Apprentices to provide training, oversight, and instruction to ensure teammates are performing tasks safely, per SMACNA and project specifications.
  • Must be able to take direction, be accepting of change, and strive for continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of four (4) years working in the field and/or sheet metal shop.
  • Comprehension of SMACNA standards.
  • GED or High School Graduate Preferred.
  • Understand how to measure ducts for fabrication, make field modifications, and install ducts by Shop Blueprints.
  • Work skillfully with tools, metals, and machines.
  • Perform a variety of duties that may change often.
  • Understand English and provide directives to assigned helpers.
  • Comply with all B & I safety procedures.
  • Drug test, background check, and a clean driving record are pre-employment requirements.
