Medical Record Review Specialist

At Memorial Health, we are seeking a highly skilled Medical Record Review Specialist to play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of medical records. As a key member of our Medical Staff Department, you will work closely with department chairs, committees, and administration to facilitate timely review and case action.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare, log, and coordinate comprehensive medical record reviews in accordance with Medical Staff policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with Medical Staff Department Chairs and/or their designees, Committees, and Administration to facilitate timely review, case action, and completion of reviews.
  • Assist in the preparation of quality review meetings for multiple Medical Staff committees, ensuring that all necessary documentation is complete and accurate.
Requirements:
  • Registered Nurse (RN) with a Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) or other health-related field required.
  • Four years of experience in an acute general hospital setting preferred, two years required.
  • Experience in the use of electronic health record systems (e.g., PowerChart and Touchworks) preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel) and data entry skills required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound judgments.
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups and individuals.
  • Possess strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Possess the ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
