Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HR Generalist to join our team at Xtra Staffing. As the HR Generalist, you will be responsible for overseeing all facets of human operations and safety within the organization.

Your responsibilities will include ensuring workplace safety, recruiting, retention, and employee development. You will be tasked with enhancing talent acquisition strategies, overseeing HR initiatives, and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations.

The HR Generalist is crucial in promoting a safe and positive work environment, as well as supporting the professional growth and development of our workforce.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Department Leaders to address unique employee needs and challenges effectively.
  • Lead Safety Initiatives, including heading the safety committee and conducting monthly safety meetings and training sessions.
  • Ensure Compliance with labor laws, EEO regulations, and other mandates.
  • Develop Hiring Strategies to attract and hire top talent.
  • Manage the Recruitment Process, including job descriptions, postings, candidate sourcing, screening, interviewing, selection, and onboarding/offboarding.
  • Conduct Background Checks, including reference checks, extending job offers, and maintaining a talent pool for future needs.
  • Oversee Onboarding/Offboarding, including managing the onboarding process for new hires and offboarding for departing employees, including exit interviews.
  • Handle Employee Relations, acting as the primary contact for employee concerns, resolving disputes, and maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Ensure Policy Compliance, working with the HR Consultant to update policies, handle workers' compensation, unemployment claims, and NEOC cases, and ensuring legal and regulatory compliance.
  • Facilitate Performance Management, leading weekly discussions on staffing needs and monitoring team attendance.
  • Compensation and Benefits, overseeing and managing the company's compensation and benefits programs to ensure they are competitive, compliant, and effectively administered.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 3 years of proven experience as a HR Generalist or Talent Acquisition or a comparable HR role.
  • Comprehensive understanding of labor legislation and HR best practices.
  • Exceptional skills in recruitment and talent acquisition.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Proficient in resolving problems and mediating conflicts.
  • Skilled in HR software and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Committed to maintaining confidentiality and managing sensitive information with discretion.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking capabilities.
