Job Summary:

The Assistant Superintendent is a key member of the Dream Finders Homes team, responsible for supporting the Superintendent and Project Manager in the successful completion of assigned projects. This role requires a strong focus on job site safety, quality, and project scheduling, as well as effective communication with clients, construction managers, and project teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing job site safety, quality, and schedule for assigned projects from pre-construction to closeout.
  • Coordinate job site logistics, field coordination, and project scheduling.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with clients, construction managers, and project teams.
  • Ensure adequate materials are delivered and available for installation in proper sequence.
  • Schedule and manage subcontractors to complete punch lists and small outstanding incomplete jobs.
  • Attend company and industry events, including meetings, trainings, and workshops.
  • Inspect the quality of work performed.
  • Maintain a safe, professional, and organized job site.
  • Utilize project management and scheduling software effectively.

Requirements:

  • High school degree or equivalent required.
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience in homebuilding or related real estate industry, or applicable construction management training preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Exceptional communication skills – both written and verbal.
  • Comfortable presenting ideas and solutions to leadership and key business partners.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills and time management skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Physical Demands:

The Assistant Superintendent is regularly required to:

  • Walk, climb stairs, sit, and stand.
  • Talk and hear at normal levels.
  • See with close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and have the ability to adjust focus.
  • Reach with hands and arms.
  • Use hands and fingers to operate tools and other business machines.
  • Lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
