Job Overview
The Senior Environmental Specialist - Air Permitting plays a crucial role in providing air compliance and environmental assistance to exploration and production operations. This position is responsible for managing the air permitting and compliance initiatives, requiring the ability to prioritize various tasks and navigate a range of federal, state, and local regulations related to air, water, and waste management.

Key Responsibilities

PRIMARY DUTIES:
  • Coordinate air permitting and compliance activities among field Environmental Health and Safety representatives, consultants, and operational teams.
  • Engage with local, state, and federal regulatory bodies regarding inquiries related to air and environmental matters.
  • Monitor permitting processes and ensure adherence to agency timelines.
  • Assess and process air permit applications.
  • Analyze regulatory obligations.
  • Conduct compliance activities related to NSPS OOOOa.
  • Manage Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) compliance and tracking.
  • Oversee engine testing and related compliance tasks.
  • Administer the Permitting and Emission Inventory program.
  • Supervise greenhouse gas reporting initiatives.
  • Prepare and submit necessary annual reports.
  • Manage operational field data effectively.
  • Conduct periodic audits and inspections in the field, including engine testing and LDAR assessments.
  • Provide training for field personnel.
  • Assist with additional programs as required, including water, waste, and Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) plans.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Proficient in Adobe Acrobat and all Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently and thrive in a high-pressure environment with strict deadlines.
  • Strong organizational capabilities to systematically track, report, and archive Environmental Health and Safety data.
  • Meticulous attention to detail to ensure the completion of all tasks and adherence to deadlines.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-driven with the capability to manage various projects effectively.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field, or an Associate's Degree.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in air permitting or compliance is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
