Position: Radiology Support Specialist at EmergeOrtho

EmergeOrtho is committed to delivering exceptional musculoskeletal care throughout North Carolina. In the role of Radiology Support Specialist, you will be integral in ensuring that patients are safely escorted to and from the Radiology Department in accordance with established protocols. Additionally, you will conduct preliminary patient screenings prior to their imaging studies and provide assistance to clinical personnel as necessary.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Proficient in utilizing email and internet applications
  • Knowledge of practice management and document processing software
  • Valid CPR certification
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Minimum of one year of experience in customer service within a healthcare setting or a dynamic environment

Primary Responsibilities

  • Greet and direct patients to the Radiology department
  • Aid in preparing patients for their imaging studies while adhering to safety measures
  • Perform patient screenings prior to each imaging procedure
  • Ensure prompt acquisition of laboratory results necessary for imaging studies
  • Confirm accurate orders and insurance approvals for scheduled imaging
  • Utilize imaging software to transmit images to the radiology team for analysis
  • Oversee inventory management and place orders as instructed
  • Coordinate with external facilities and third parties for documentation purposes
  • Follow Infection Control protocols and OSHA standards
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as required, including schedule modifications and office visits as assigned by the Manager
