Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Extravehicular Activity (EVA) Responsible Engineer to join our dynamic team of engineers. In this role, you will work closely with the Crew Systems and EVA Lunar Permanence Teams to innovate, develop, analyze, procure, integrate, and test EVA products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and analysis of EVA hardware, ensuring thorough testing and verification processes.
  • Develop training hardware for mockups and Human-in-the-Loop (HITL) testing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Environmental Control Life Support (ECLS), Human Integration, and Safety, throughout the hardware development lifecycle.
  • Mentor junior engineers and conduct technical reviews to uphold high standards of quality and performance.

Qualifications (Required):

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (chemical, mechanical, electrical, aerospace, or environmental) or a related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in the design and analysis of space systems, with a preference for EVA or spacecraft.
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and managing projects.
  • Familiarity with industry safety, reliability, and quality standards, including those from NASA and DOD.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Experience with CAD tools, particularly CREO.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts effectively.
  • U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline.
  • Experience in research and development for technologies applicable to EVA in extreme environments.
  • Knowledge of International Space Station (ISS) hardware and operations.
  • Familiarity with human factors in EVA design.
