As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for developing detailed mechanical designs for complex optomechanical space payloads, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and building and testing prototype systems for design validation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop optomechanical systems for space applications
  • Collaborate with systems, electrical, optical, and software engineers to integrate subsystems
  • Build and test prototype systems for design validation
  • Provide mentorship to junior engineers and contribute to team goals
  • Perform thermal, shock/vibe, and motion analysis for component- and system-level design

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in mechanical design for complex electro-optomechanical systems
  • Expertise in SolidWorks and material properties
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Proven track record of payload design lifecycle completion

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Deep understanding of space environment considerations
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, small team environment
  • Experience with multiple projects simultaneously
