Position Summary
The MRI Technologist is responsible for performing a variety of complex and specialized tasks associated with the operation of high field strength magnets. This role involves ensuring patient safety, assisting radiologists, and maintaining high standards of imaging quality.

Key Responsibilities
1. Screen patients for MRI safety prior to procedures.
2. Assist radiologists with protocol development and procedure execution.
3. Start IVs and administer contrast media as per established protocols.
4. Evaluate MRI scans for technical quality and ensure proper labeling of images.
5. Schedule patient appointments and manage clerical tasks related to imaging procedures.
6. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
7. Provide orientation and training for new technologists and student technologists.
8. Address the psychological and physical needs of patients undergoing MRI procedures.
9. Utilize the Image Archival System effectively.

Qualifications
Education: Completion of a program that meets eligibility requirements for certification or currently holds required certification.
Experience: Level I must obtain ARRT certification within 18 months; Level II requires a minimum of two years of experience; Level III requires at least four years of experience in the specialty modality.

Certifications:
Certification in Radiography, Radiation Therapy, Nuclear Medicine Technology, or registry eligible for Magnetic Resonance is required. ARRT or ARMRIT registration in Magnetic Resonance must be obtained within 18 months of employment. BLS certification is also required.
