Job Overview:
The Magnetic Resonance Imaging Specialist is responsible for operating MRI machines and associated technology to capture detailed images of designated body regions, adhering to the directives provided by Radiologists. This role requires a solid understanding of MRI methodologies, sterile practices, fundamental nursing skills, patient care, and anatomical knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Set up imaging apparatus and modify settings to optimize exposure duration and distance based on examination requirements.
2. Document diagnostic information and input necessary data into electronic health records as part of the patient's official documentation.
3. Collaborate with the MRI Supervisor to ensure high-quality imaging services.
The MRI Specialist prioritizes the needs of patients and members, fostering strong relationships and understanding their unique circumstances, challenges, and expectations. They actively engage with patients to build trust and respond promptly to their needs, addressing any issues that may arise.
Essential Skills:
• Proficient in maintaining and troubleshooting imaging equipment
• Skilled in preparing patients for MRI procedures
• Experienced in operating imaging devices during examinations
• Competent in managing patient records accurately
• Capable of explaining procedures to patients in a clear and respectful manner
• Knowledgeable in administering contrast agents under physician supervision
• Adept at positioning patients to capture optimal images based on physician guidance
• Responsible for organizing and maintaining MRI documentation and files
• Diligent in keeping daily logs and entering statistics into computer systems
