Job Description

**Job Summary**

The Senior Director of Quality and Safety provides strategic leadership and direction for clinical quality and safety initiatives across the North Puget Sound Service Area. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining systems to ensure integration of quality support across the Service Area, leading to improved health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and strategic direction for clinical quality and safety initiatives
  • Design, implement, and maintain systems to ensure integration of quality support
  • Coordinate with operational leaders to develop, implement, and monitor systems of care
  • Champion a data-driven environment for clinical quality, patient safety, and infection prevention
  • Partner with Patient Safety leaders to improve Culture of Safety
  • Facilitate adoption of evidence-based best practices
  • Oversee, interview, hire, train, and evaluate caregivers
  • Develop and monitor implementation of ministry-specific goals and objectives
  • Develop and maintain budget requirements and ensure compliance
  • Establish and maintain communications, processes, and practices to mitigate and communicate risk

Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Nursing, Health Administration, or similar
  • Washington Registered Nurse License
  • 8 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in Medical/Surgical, Critical Care, Intensive Care, or Emergency Department
  • 2 years of leadership experience in a quality improvement program
  • Knowledge of disease pathophysiology and drug utilization
  • PC/Systems literacy, including the Internet and MS Office skills
  • Leadership and organizational skills, critical, deductive reasoning, and problem-solving skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and oral presentation skills
