Overview:




POSITION OBJECTIVE:


Under general oversight, facilitates the provision of nursing services and the coordination of activities across all departments within the healthcare facility during the hours of 1800 to 0630, Monday through Friday, along with continuous coverage on weekends and holidays.

Acts as the administrative representative of the hospital leadership and holds administrative authority during these designated hours.

Supports the execution of the mission, philosophy, objectives, standards, policies, and procedures of Trinity Health and the Patient Care Services Department.


Key Stakeholders:

Patients and families, healthcare professionals (including physicians, Amicare, Hospice), third-party payers, clinical directors, clinical supervisors, patient care coordinators, staff, colleagues, volunteers, and community agencies/services.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Adheres to the principles of compassionate care and expected behaviors outlined in Trinity Health's Model of Caring and Code of Conduct, fostering an environment where all stakeholders are treated in alignment with Trinity Health's Mission and Values.


Maintains an up-to-date understanding of relevant Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, Trinity Health's Organizational Integrity Program, Standards of Conduct, and other policies and procedures to ensure compliance in a manner that reflects integrity, ethics, and professionalism.

Performs additional responsibilities consistent with the purpose of the role as directed.

Maintains a professional, collaborative work atmosphere to promote a positive public image for Trinity Health.

Understands and complies with all laws and regulations related to patient health, safety, and medical information (e.g., HIPAA, Stark, etc.)


Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage with individuals across various levels and diverse backgrounds.

Demonstrates knowledge and support for the principles of effective guest relations in daily interactions with others (strong interpersonal skills).

Ensures that services are delivered in a manner that supports ongoing quality improvement and a customer-oriented focus.

Possesses knowledge of staffing and scheduling methodologies.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:


During a typical workday, the employee must be able to sit for 3 hours, stand for 1 hour, and walk for 4 hours.

The role requires occasional bending/stooping, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching above shoulder level, crouching, kneeling, balancing, and pushing/pulling.

The position also necessitates the ability to occasionally (6-10% of work time) carry up to 10 lbs. and to occasionally (6-10% of work time) lift up to 35 lbs.

The role requires the use of hands for simple grasping.

The employee may be exposed to significant changes in temperature and humidity, as well as infectious and radiation exposure.

Must possess near visual acuity.

Must be able to communicate verbally.

Must be able to hear spoken communication.

Must comply with applicable organizational requirements on an annual basis for Employee Health Directives.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, AND EXPERIENCE

REQUIRED:


A minimum of a bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) is required. Current RN license to practice nursing in the state where patient care is provided. A minimum of two (2) years' experience as a staff nurse, charge nurse, patient care coordinator, or clinical supervisor. ACLS certification is required for full and part-time positions. ACLS certification is preferred for PRN positions.

Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training is required within 6 months of hire and every 3 years thereafter.

Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) will be required within 30 days of hire and every 2 years thereafter.
