Charge Respiratory Therapist Position

As a Lead Respiratory Therapist at Johns Hopkins Medicine, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our respiratory therapy department.

You will work closely with our team of respiratory care professionals to ensure that patients receive high-quality care.

Your duties will include assigning respiratory care staff to work areas and/or work assignments, modifying work assignments, assisting with meal coverage, and fielding call offs.

You will also be responsible for mentoring the staff in appropriate behavior and decision making as well as leading by example.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of respiratory therapy department
  • Work closely with respiratory care professionals
  • Assign respiratory care staff to work areas and/or work assignments
  • Modify work assignments
  • Assist with meal coverage
  • Field call offs
Requirements:

An associate degree is required; a bachelor's degree is desirable.

A minimum of five years of experience as an RT is required.

Current active license from the State of Maryland Physician Board Quality Assurance (MPBQA) and registration by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) are required.

Current BLS certification is also required.

ACLS certification is required within six months of hire.
