Bus Monitor

The Greater Lawrence Community Action Council is seeking a highly motivated and responsible individual to fill the role of Bus Monitor. As a key member of our transportation team, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of children on our buses.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and Monitor Children: Ensure the safety and well-being of children on the bus at all times.
- Assist with Emergency Procedures: Be prepared to respond to emergency situations and follow established protocols.
- Maintain a Clean and Organized Bus: Participate in keeping the bus clean and tidy, including the daily checklist for children on the bus.
- Communicate with Parents and Staff: Inform parents of any changes or updates, and communicate with transportation staff as needed.
- Report Incidents and Concerns: Document and report any incidents or concerns to the Transportation Supervisor.
- Age and Education: Must be at least 18 years old with a high school education or equivalent.
- Knowledge and Skills: Have knowledge and understanding of young children, ability to manage a large group of small children, and fluency in English and Spanish.
- Physical Demands: Must be physically able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
- Background Checks: Must have a suitable CORI, SORI & DCF background check on file prior to employment.
This position requires frequent travel to various locations, including schools and community centers. The employee must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and maintain a positive relationship with parents, children, and colleagues.
