Job Title: Senior Controls Engineer

At EVRAZ North America, we're committed to excellence in manufacturing. As a Senior Controls Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in optimizing and automating our processes, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with operations and quality teams to understand operational processes and product quality metrics.
  • Maintain and improve in-house software process models, monitoring performance via data analysis.
  • Develop strategies to reduce defects, delays, and missed opportunities.
  • Analyze data to create proof-of-concept models for process improvement.
  • Understand equipment limitations and collaborate with engineering to improve performance.
  • Develop strong vendor relationships to understand equipment and software process models.
  • Develop training tools to enhance team understanding of processes.
  • Maintain Level II supervisory systems hardware and software components.
  • Ensure 24/7/365 mission-critical services in manufacturing operations.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer, Electrical, Manufacturing, or Materials Science Engineering.
  • 10 years of experience in the steel industry or manufacturing, preferably with process modeling, control theory, and statistical analysis.
  • Strong mathematical background with experience in numerical methods.
  • Adaptive software process models experience and/or training.
  • Software development and support experience with DEC Fortran, DEC C, and.NET programming languages.
  • Database knowledge with Microsoft SQL Server/T-SQL programming skills.
  • Familiarity with virtual environments and industrial networking.
  • Able to read through complicated algorithms and propose solutions.
  • Knowledge of group problem-solving techniques.
  • Willing to support 24-hour operations through variable shifts and remote support.
