Position: Continuous Improvement Engineer
Role Overview:
The Continuous Improvement Engineer is responsible for enhancing operational efficiency and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and execute lean manufacturing principles effectively.
- Utilize methodologies such as 5S, Kaizen, Andon, Heijunka, Genchi Genbutsu, JIT, KPI, RC Analysis, PDCA, and Muda.
- Gain insights into the essential components of Value Stream Production and Support Roles.
- Ensure compliance with all organizational Policies & Procedures.
- Collaborate with Supervisors to perform Workplace Organization and 5S audits, addressing corrective actions as necessary.
- Conduct time studies to establish standard work practices.
- Lead initiatives aimed at waste reduction through Look & See and Gemba walks.
- Assemble and fabricate part presentation racks and manufacturing aids, and set up tooling shadow boards.
- Facilitate kaizen events under the guidance of the Process Improvement Manager.
- Conduct Waste Walks to pinpoint continuous improvement opportunities and organize related activities.
- Actively promote and facilitate Continuous Improvement initiatives within the department.
- Identify and assess process enhancements on the production floor to boost key performance metrics such as safety, OAE, scrap rates, and individual employee performance.
- Regularly report on improvement activities and track performance metrics for validation.
- Maintain documentation of all activities in the Athens Policy Deployment folder.
- Prepare procurement information for management review to identify necessary resources for effective Continuous Improvement implementation.
- Develop and mentor employees on foundational practices to enhance line performance.
- Conduct audits and support compliance with OrganizationOS standards.
- Obtain Green Belt certification as part of professional development.
General Duties:
- Ensure adherence to all EHSMS policies and procedures.
- Promote safe work practices and foster a culture of safety awareness.
- Facilitate effective communication of company policies and programs.
- Encourage a positive workplace environment.
- Maintain strong inter-departmental relationships to promote trust and collaboration.
- Meet the physical demands of the role, including maneuvering around machinery and working in varying temperature conditions.
- Empower employees to take action against non-conformities in product and process quality.
- Support Supervisor requests as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in Industrial Engineering or Continuous Improvement.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
