Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Specimen Processor I-Histology to join our team at MaineHealth. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for pre-analytic processing of specimens received from all NorDx sites and clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform pre-analytic processing of specimens, including specimen triage, tracking, and distribution to the testing area.
  • Interact professionally with patients, clients, and co-workers throughout the organization.
  • Accurately perform all tasks associated with processing of specimens from receipt through appropriate distribution.
  • Perform key pre-analytical functions, including order entry and specimen processing.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • MLA certification preferred; acceptable certification agencies include ASCP, AMT, and NHA.
  • Technical training as a Medical Lab Assistant preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work any shift, holiday, and/or weekend as needed.
  • Ability to travel among company sites as needed.
