Adjunct Professor, School of Leadership and Advanced Nursing Practice

As an Adjunct Faculty member, you will play a crucial role in facilitating students' achievement of course objectives and preparing them to master skill sets to move forward throughout the program. You will work closely with the course clinical coordinator and program coordinator to ensure that the standards and quality of the nursing curricula are met and maintained.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities- Teaching and Instruction: Adhere to the clinical and class schedules as posted, communicate any concerns with the course coordinator, and follow the policies and procedures of the clinical site.
- Communication and Collaboration: Communicate course requirements to students, collaborate with the Course Clinical Coordinator to plan, implement, and evaluate each course offering, and attend scheduled meetings prior to the course orientation with the Course Coordinator and other adjunct faculty teaching in the course.
- Student Support and Advising: Be available to assigned students for support and course advising, including exams, required remediation, and summative evaluations.
- Professional Development: Perform other duties as assigned and uphold the mission and values of the USM College of Nursing and Health Professions.
The adjunct faculty member is expected to be a competent practitioner of nursing. A graduate degree in Nursing is required, along with a current unencumbered Mississippi RN license and appropriate APRN certification if teaching in an advanced practice program. Additionally, a criminal history and background check clearance, evidence of current American Heart Association CPR training, and evidence of yearly tuberculin skin tests and other required immunizations as per nursing program policy and/or agency requirements are necessary.
Preferred QualificationsA Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) or PhD in Nursing or closely related area is preferred.
