Position Overview
The Superintendent is responsible for directing and overseeing all aspects of construction initiatives, which includes coordinating personnel, materials, and equipment, supervising subcontractors and staff, ensuring adherence to specifications, and maintaining project timelines and budgets.

Key Responsibilities

• Formulates plans and timelines for the successful completion of construction projects

• Evaluates drawings and designs to confirm compliance with specifications

• Conducts thorough reviews of all contract documents to understand all details, notes, and requirements

• Oversees the work of craft personnel and ensures that all trade contractors meet project specifications and building regulations

• Monitors and adheres to established budgetary constraints, ensuring that cost control measures are implemented

• Assesses quality standards for all projects, including contractor performance, ensuring that all quality assurance and company standards are upheld

• Tracks job schedules and coordinates the work of contractors, suppliers' deliveries, and equipment requirements

• Ensures that inspections are scheduled appropriately

• Manages the administration of construction contracts and secures necessary permits and licenses

• Provides technical guidance on construction methods and equipment

• Monitors and controls schedules and associated costs to ensure project completion on time and within budget

• Offers assistance in resolving construction-related issues

• Explores alternative work methods and materials that may enhance efficiency and/or quality of work

• Ensures job safety and safety training; enforces safety protocols and OSHA Standards

• Prepares and manages project closeout requirements

• Acts as a liaison among owners, inspectors, staff, and subcontractors

• Aids in the preparation of written reports and updates (both internal and external) for management, clients, and project teams, ensuring a clear understanding of project status

• Administers financial tracking systems to oversee project costs and estimates

Required Skills and Qualifications

• A minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience in construction management, with a comprehensive understanding of industry practices, methods, processes, and standards and their implications on project activities

• Demonstrates a solid understanding of fundamental project controls (cost, schedule, change management, etc.), material management, contract management, subcontract management, safety, and quality

• Ability to read, interpret, and understand drawings and specifications

• Exhibits strong leadership abilities and can inspire team members

• Proven track record of successfully delivering projects on schedule and within budget

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Excellent client relations, influencing skills, and organizational capabilities

• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• Frequently works outdoors at construction sites and occasionally indoors

• Regularly stands, walks, climbs, balances, stoops, and crouches while navigating construction areas

• Engages in sitting, reading, writing, and using a keyboard

• May encounter harsh weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold

• May be exposed to high noise levels
