We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Fundraising Expert to join our team at the Homeless Services Network of Central Florida. This is a full-time position that requires 40 hours per week, with occasional additional hours.
Job SummaryThe Fundraising Expert will be responsible for generating revenue by cultivating new funding opportunities and donor relationships to support the work of the Homeless Services Network. This includes analyzing existing and past fundraising efforts, leading or supporting grant-writing efforts, and working with the Director of Communications to refine the development strategy.
Key Responsibilities- Cultivate new funding opportunities and donor relationships to generate revenue and increase participation in homeless services.
- Analyze existing and past fundraising efforts to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies for growth.
- Lead or support grant-writing efforts to secure funding for homeless services programs.
- Collaborate with the Director of Communications to refine the development strategy and align it with broader communications efforts.
- Develop engagement opportunities and products that meet the needs of corporate partners, including making fundraising presentations.
- Create and deliver development-related communication strategies that align with HSN's overall communications plan.
- Oversee contracted event planner activities associated with annual fund-development/awareness-raising events.
- Work with the CFO to track donations in the accounting system and maintain separate data systems for tracking donors.
- Report on donor development to the CEO and HSN Board.
- Research emerging practices on resource development strategies to stay up-to-date on best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Philanthropy, Non-Profit Management, Business Administration, Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, Public Administration, or related field, with three years of experience, or equivalent background with five years of experience working with nonprofit resource development.
- Interest and passion about HSN's mission, with the ability to promote and communicate HSN's philosophy, mission, and values to external and internal stakeholders.
- Strong relationship builder and communicator with a customer-service focus.
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and boards to maximize performance, creativity, problem-solving, and results.
- Knowledge of and experience in working with donor databases.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) and computers, including email, internet, and digital presentations.
- Familiarity with homelessness, poverty, housing, mental health, recovery, and human services.
- Possess a valid driver's license and have access to a legally registered vehicle.
$60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
