Job Summary:

This EHSS Safety Professional role is a key position within our operations area team. The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of safety activities, including program development, training, auditing, and emergency response. A strong understanding of OSHA standards and regulations is essential, along with experience in safety auditing, incident investigation, and emergency response.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert safety guidance and support to the operations area team.
  • Participate in the refinery's emergency response efforts and serve as a member of the Incident Command structure.
  • Offer technical expertise on safety issues, including standard interpretation, accident/incident investigations, and maintenance turnaround support.
  • Develop and deliver various safety training courses to refinery personnel.
  • Conduct regular safety risk assessments and develop mitigation plans to address identified risks.
  • Engage in project-related work by reviewing and approving plan development, Management of Change reviews, and project safety plans.
  • Conduct contractor field performance audits and meet with contractors to communicate safety expectations.
  • Review work permits, correct deficiencies, and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Provide safety input in the development and review of operating procedures.
  • Advocate for front-line employees to ensure safe work completion.
  • Maintain OSHA regulatory compliance.
  • Interact with refinery personnel to ensure adherence to safety procedures and regulations.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required; 4 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Safety Management, or Industrial Hygiene with 2 years of relevant experience strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with OSHA standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Valid driver's license required.
