Job Overview
The Life Skills Instructor, reporting to the Individualized Supports Manager, is responsible for providing a supportive and guiding role to individuals with developmental disabilities, assisting them in mastering independent living skills. This position requires implementing Agency policies and procedures for the safety and welfare of consumers, promoting fun, safe, and healthy activities.
Responsibilities
- Monitor consumer behavior, implement consumer behavior management programs, document activities and incidents.
- Document shift activities, provide programmatic and statistical reports as required.
- Maintain home safety, appearance, and cleanliness, conduct sanitation and safety inspections.
- Provide counseling or reinforcement to assigned individuals, assist in supervising and safely transporting residents to community activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience, valid driver's license, and ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to obtain certifications in CPR, First Aid, PMT, and DDS State Medication Administration.
Estimated Salary
$40,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
