Job Summary

As a Medical Assistant - Patient Care Specialist at Geisinger Health System, you will play a vital role in providing direct patient care and clinical support to physicians and other providers in the outpatient setting. Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain and document patient information, including reason for visit, weight, vital signs, and medication review.
  • Prepare patients for visits with providers, ensuring their safety and privacy.
  • Assist with minor surgical procedures and ancillary patient tests and treatments.
  • Administer medications according to policy and procedure.
  • Collect and prepare laboratory specimens.
  • Perform phlebotomy and assist with laboratory functions.
  • Document patient information in the electronic medical record.
  • Provide administrative and clerical support, including patient scheduling and filing reports.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
  • Graduate from a Specialty Training Program (Preferred)
  • Minimum of 1 year of related work experience (Preferred)
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification
