The primary goal of this position is to maintain all healthcare environments in optimal condition, fostering a safe and welcoming atmosphere for patients, staff, and visitors alike.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support the operation and upkeep of all healthcare facilities, including electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), refrigeration, communication, fire safety, security, and grounds maintenance.
- Conduct routine maintenance activities, such as filter replacements, equipment lubrication, and system inspections to identify potential problems.
- Address maintenance requests and diagnose issues to determine their root causes, implementing effective solutions.
- Keep detailed records of maintenance tasks, including work orders, equipment logs, and inventory management.
- Perform landscaping duties, including mowing, trimming, weeding, and managing debris.
- Safely operate and maintain landscaping equipment.
- Inspect and maintain parking areas and walkways to ensure safe access to Harlan County Health System.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols, including the proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Assist in coordinating contractors and vendors for larger maintenance projects.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in maintenance or a related field is preferred.
- Familiarity with building systems and utilities, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and fire safety systems is advantageous.
- Ability to read and understand technical manuals and schematics.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical ability to lift and maneuver heavy equipment and supplies.
