Job Overview: As the head of our Central Kitchen Division, the Central Kitchen Operations Supervisor is tasked with managing schedules and overseeing all departmental production to meet planned product transfers. This role encompasses product oversight, food safety compliance, quality assurance, gross margin management, labor oversight, expense control, team member development, customer satisfaction, and overall profitability within the Central Kitchen Division.
Key Responsibilities:
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Production Leadership: Directs the creation of beautifully decorated cakes, cupcakes, and desserts for sale across our Bakery/Coffee Shop Divisions and for custom orders.
Cold Product Management: Oversees the preparation of cold items for our Prepared Foods Divisions and catering orders.
Quality Assurance: Ensures adherence to all food preparation standards, maintaining compliance with established recipes to guarantee product consistency and quality.
Product Development: Assists in the innovation and commercialization of new offerings, participating in concept creation and sourcing as needed. Develops bench samples, conducts product evaluations, and assists in time and motion studies for transfer costing.
Inventory Management: Ensures efficient ordering of all products for the Central Kitchen Division, maintaining inventory levels necessary for fulfilling orders.
Vendor Relations: Takes charge of store-level vendor interactions, including daily operations and meetings.
Logistics Coordination: Manages product shipments and transfers to various locations.
Team Management: Assigns daily projects and activities to Central Kitchen Division team members, ensuring timely and accurate completion of tasks.
Operational Efficiency: Effectively oversees departmental operations to meet transfer goals, labor targets, and expense budgets.
Scheduling: Develops the Central Kitchen Division work schedule, allocating labor effectively to meet operational objectives and provide exceptional customer service.
Leadership Development: Provides outstanding leadership, promotes teamwork, and ensures a positive experience for all team members; responsible for developing, training, and mentoring Central Kitchen Division staff.
Team Morale: Cultivates a positive atmosphere, motivating and providing feedback to foster a cohesive and productive team.
Recruitment: Takes primary responsibility for recruiting and hiring team members for the Central Kitchen Division.
Customer Service Training: Trains all team members on customer service standards and techniques, ensuring consistent achievement of service expectations across the division.
Work Environment: Maintains a clean and organized Central Kitchen Division area.
Flexibility: Works a flexible schedule as required by business needs.
Qualifications:
Candidates will be evaluated based on the following qualifications:
- Minimum of three years of experience in a kitchen or restaurant setting; two years of supervisory experience managing five or more employees in a food service environment.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while delivering quality results within deadlines. Strong sense of urgency and excellent time management skills are essential.
- Demonstrated self-motivation and initiative; adept at problem-solving.
- Significant experience with financial budgeting and a proven track record of achieving financial objectives.
- Strong knowledge of food safety and HACCP/Department of Health regulations, as well as experience in inventory and portion control.
- Comprehensive product knowledge with a history of training team members and providing excellent customer service.
- Proven leadership abilities; successful history as a team leader and member; experienced in personnel development.
- Proven skills in recruiting, training, and motivating employees; experienced in developing and implementing training programs.
- Exceptional customer service abilities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proven capability to positively influence sales and manage expenses, including labor.
Wage/Salary Range: $30.00
