Job Overview:
The Registered Nurse in Radiology is accountable for comprehensive nursing duties, including patient assessment, care coordination, and evaluation. This role involves providing essential clinical support to both patients and healthcare providers, facilitating accurate diagnosis and treatment of various conditions. The nurse will also oversee the completion and accuracy of diagnostic tests, ensuring all information is properly documented in the electronic medical record for seamless patient care continuity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver nursing care related to patient management, imaging, and interventional procedures.
  • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with established protocols.
  • Monitor patient reactions to medications and tests, documenting findings in the medical record.
  • Ensure all necessary documentation is prepared for procedures.
  • Prepare patients for procedures by reviewing their medical history and medication lists.
  • Evaluate patients' physical conditions and their comprehension of the procedures.
  • Provide education to patients and their families.
  • Assess the effectiveness of nursing interventions and adjust care plans based on patient feedback.
  • Perform Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support as needed.
  • Execute emergency procedures when required and assist in patient transport.
  • Initiate and manage oxygen therapy.
  • Support patient transport as necessary.
  • Assist with therapeutic interventions, including vital sign assessments and medication administration.
  • Facilitate the orientation of new staff and students.
  • Evaluate laboratory results prior to procedures.
  • Support nursing needs throughout the radiology department.
Work is primarily conducted in a clinical setting. The nurse is expected to fulfill all job-specific responsibilities and adhere to organizational policies and procedures. Position Details:

Hours: Three-hour shifts, 6:30 am - Mon-Sat coverage

On-Call: None

Major Holidays: None

Experience/Certifications: Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required; ACLS certification is advantageous but not mandatory.

Additional Information: This position will manage contrast reactions for CT and MRI imaging and serve as the Breast Imaging Navigator for the imaging center. As the role evolves, additional clinical responsibilities in Radiology may be assigned.

Graduate from a Specialty Training Program in Nursing (Required)
