Director of Student Financial Success and Operations

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Director of Student Financial Success and Operations. This is a key leadership role that requires a strong understanding of financial aid policies and procedures, as well as excellent communication and management skills.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and administer student financial aid programs and related activities
- Ensure compliance with university and funding agency goals, policies, and requirements
- Supervise processing staff members and provide guidance on financial aid processing policies and procedures
- Oversee import and export for Federal Grant and Direct Loan programs, manage and perform reconciliation procedures, and monitor output reports and clean suspense files from UC4 data load processes
- Perform all duties and responsibilities of the Return of Title IV Funds (RT24) process, including calculations, award adjustments, and reporting of any federal overpayments to the NSLDS in accordance with required timelines
- Assist with maintaining the integrity of data of the financial aid module in Banner and/or job-related software releases
- Oversee TASFA and Texas Grant programs allocation funding
- Assist with developing implementation plans, conversions, and installing new Banner and/or job-related software releases
- Ensure timely submission of college work-study earned hours and assist with preparation of monthly college work-study reconciliation reports
- Award, revise, and certify all college access loans and alternative loans from various lenders
- Work with data analysts to prepare budgets for campus-based aid and Pell grants based on current guidelines
- Assist with FISAP/THECB reports and other reports required by the state or Department of Education
- Develop a working relationship with internal and external partners, as well as various college departments, staff, and faculty to ensure they are provided with the financial aid support needed
- Serve as the Chair of the SAP committee and designate committee members from departments outside of student financial success
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with financial aid administrators' professional code of conduct
- Master's degree (M.A. or M.S. or M.B.A.) in Business, Public Administration, or a related field
- Three to five years of related experience
- Knowledge of federal, state, local, and county laws, policies, procedures, and practices
- Management and supervisory practices, Banner and other job-related software systems, and procedures and monitoring compliance in the federal loan and Federal Pell grant programs
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
This is a routine office environment with sitting or standing in one location for much of the time. Some stooping, lifting, or carrying objects of light weight may be required. Use of a video display terminal is also necessary.
