Position Overview:

The Mediation Center of Eastern Carolina is looking for a committed contractor to enhance our Community Service/Restitution Program, focusing on Craven County.

We seek an individual with substantial experience in supporting at-risk youth, who demonstrates professionalism, organizational skills, and the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.


Essential Qualifications:
  • Proven experience with at-risk youth.
  • Availability to work two Saturdays monthly and weekday evenings from 4 PM to 7 PM.
  • Physical capability to perform manual tasks relevant to youth activities on worksites.
  • Passion for mentoring youth aged 6-17, with the ability to supervise, guide, and inspire.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise worksites to ensure youth complete their assigned tasks.
  • Instruct and demonstrate task completion to youth participants.
  • Assist youth in fulfilling their community service obligations.
  • Build and sustain positive relationships with community professionals.
  • Maintain accurate case files for youth participants.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office Suite for document and database updates.
  • Keep precise records for each worksite, including attendance and hours worked by each youth.
  • Provide supervision, instruction, and constructive feedback to youth at worksites.
  • Collaborate effectively with the program supervisor.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Associate Director and/or Program Coordinators.

Approximately 6 hours per week

Evenings as required
