Job Summary:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The associate will be accountable for the following tasks, along with other duties as assigned:

Conducting business analysis, application design, development, integration, delivery, and ongoing maintenance and support of applications.

Designing the technical architecture of applications, including databases, programming languages, utilities, and testing methodologies.

Engaging in the evaluation of software issues identified during the quality assurance phase.

Contributing to the identification of enterprise-wide platform and technology needs for applications.

Creating comprehensive programming guidelines to address business challenges through automation support.


Collaborating closely with business subject matter experts to develop and maintain a thorough understanding and documentation of application functionalities and the processes that have been established concerning the data and functions associated with those applications, including any existing data challenges.


Performing in-depth technical analysis on database structures, components, batch processing, and online operations, and documenting this analysis in a clear and informative manner.

Regularly updating existing documentation to ensure accuracy.


Continuously assessing the effectiveness of applications and related procedures, documenting weaknesses and proposing areas for improvement for discussion with the business.

Leading and/or participating in requirement gathering and issue resolution sessions with both technical and business stakeholders.

Capable of producing detailed business requirements definitions, functional specifications, system designs, and technical documentation that adhere to Weis Markets IT standards.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not involve direct supervision of associates but will provide mentorship to application analysts and support staff.

Qualifications

To excel in this role, the associate must successfully fulfill each essential duty.

The qualifications listed below represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities required:

Education and/or Experience:

A Bachelor's degree (BS) in a relevant field and a minimum of 8+ years of experience as a programmer analyst in the information technology sector.

Proficiency in utilizing modern development tools and environments such as GIT, Docker, and Kubernetes.

Experience in establishing pipelines and automation for deploying Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), and Platform as a Service (PaaS) workloads through Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices.
