Position Summary

The Instructional Aide will work under the guidance of the School Leader or another certified staff member, providing a range of instructional support to individual students or small groups within both special education and general education settings, whether in-person or virtually.

The responsibilities of this role are designed to enhance the instructional experience and maximize learning opportunities for all students, particularly those in inclusive settings. Additionally, the Instructional Aide will assist in establishing and implementing effective classroom and school-wide behavioral strategies and will perform various clerical tasks as assigned.

Compensation Structure

This position offers a salary distributed over a 12-month period, inclusive of scheduled school breaks and summer vacation. The compensation, combined with an additional 60 days of paid school breaks, results in an annualized salary that is, on average, significantly higher than that of peers in the district.

Experience:

Prior paid or volunteer experience working with students or children in educational or behavioral support contexts is preferred.

Education:

To qualify as a Title I paraprofessional providing instructional support, candidates must possess:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent, and
  • An Associate's degree or higher, or
  • A minimum of 48 college units in progress, or
  • A passing score on the ETS ParaPro Assessment (minimum score = 460), or
  • Successful completion of the CBEST exams.
