Position Overview

The Inventory Control Supervisor plays a crucial role in managing inventory processes within a high-paced production facility. This position is accountable for ensuring operational efficiency while adhering to the highest standards of company protocols. The Supervisor is tasked with maintaining optimal inventory levels in alignment with organizational strategies and cycles. Additionally, this role involves training and motivating team members through recognition and constructive feedback in a culture of continuous improvement. Compliance with health and safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to and advocate for all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
  • Implement and promote safe working practices consistently
  • Conduct cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy and timely execution
  • Oversee stock rotation procedures, ensuring First In, First Out (FIFO) methodology
  • Train team members on product dating and develop procedures to minimize loss
  • Alert management to any shortages or issues affecting product availability
  • Manage the receipt of incoming products
  • Oversee the shipment of outgoing products
  • Audit both inbound and outbound inventory movements for precision
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the General Manager

Qualifications:

  • Understanding of fundamental warehouse operations
  • Knowledge of perishable food stocking practices
  • Familiarity with Just In Time (JIT) inventory strategies
  • Experience with ERP software; SAP knowledge is advantageous
  • Proficient in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Excel
  • Strong mathematical and accounting capabilities
  • Ability to withstand brief exposure to freezer temperatures
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills

Experience / Education:

  • Minimum of three years in an inventory and receiving management role preferred. Internal candidates with less experience but demonstrated leadership potential are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience in a Just In Time (JIT) and/or Perishable Food Manufacturing and/or Warehousing environment is preferred.
  • Experience managing Just In Time (JIT) and/or Perishable Food Inventory is a plus.
  • Familiarity with GMP practices is preferred.
