Job Summary

The Anesthesia Technician plays a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care by providing essential anesthesia support to the anesthesia clinician during surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepares and organizes equipment and supplies for scheduled and emergent cases in anesthetizing locations.
  • Reviews present and future surgical schedules to ensure anesthesia staff have the necessary equipment and supplies.
  • Transports and sets up equipment needed for procedures, including laryngoscope blades, monitors, EKG cables, and oxygen tanks/tubing.
  • Ensures equipment is decontaminated and in good working condition before each procedure.
  • Follows department procedures for proper procurement and handling of non-controlled medications, I.V. fluids, and contrast media.
  • Performs thorough, prompt room turnover between procedures, including cleaning and disinfection, restocking of anesthesia supplies, and cleaning/storing of anesthesia equipment and instrumentation.
Requirements
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment start date.
  • High School Graduate or equivalent.
