Join Our Team as a Veterinary Technician in ER/ICU

BluePearl Specialty + Emergency Pet Hospital is seeking experienced Veterinary Technicians to work in our busy Emergency and Critical Care department.

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, working closely with our veterinarians and other support staff to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia in patients, using anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
  • Triage emergency cases, obtaining vital signs such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure.
  • Perform digital radiography using proper technique, including proper positioning of patients.
  • Have a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including heart rate, respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation.
  • Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs, alerting veterinarians to changes and issues.
  • Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
  • Properly calculate medical math, including constant rate infusions, and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.
  • Be proficient at performing phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels.
  • Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
  • Have a passion for mentoring and training other co-workers.
  • Have patience and empathy to address client concerns.
