Akima Infrastructure Services, LLC (AIS) is seeking a highly skilled Piping Engineer to join our team supporting the Department of Energy at the Y-12 National Security Complex and the Pantex Plant. As a Piping Engineer, you will provide full-time piping design engineering support for facility and production area activities in Cat 2 and Cat 3 facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop design output documentation to support major facility modifications and Project Engineering, including drawings, engineering instructions, data sheets, equipment specifications, equivalency evaluations, calculations, etc.
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines and plant organizations to produce timely design output.
  • Work in an NRC or DOE regulated environment, requiring an understanding of Conduct of Engineering, Conduct of Operations, and Conduct of Maintenance for facilities operating within a nuclear regulated environment.
  • Communicate effectively with various clients, production and support organizations, management, and hourly wage employees.

Requirements

  • ABET accredited engineering bachelor's degree and 15-20 years' experience or a MS with 14-18 years' experience.
  • Ability to obtain a DOE Q clearance.
  • Ability to work in a production environment and perform field walk-downs.
