Key Responsibilities:
  • Welcome patients warmly and efficiently.
  • Utilize the practice management system to create and maintain patient records, including scanning medical documents and insurance cards.
  • Ensure registration forms are complete and gather necessary physician information.
  • Confirm that patients have current referrals on the day of service and obtain them when necessary.
  • Verify insurance benefits and eligibility prior to appointments and procedures.
  • Collect applicable payments from patients and accurately post transactions.
  • Balance and close the daily time-of-service batch.
  • Assist patients with inquiries regarding their balances and payment options.
  • Maintain a clean and organized reception area, including restocking supplies.
  • Support healthcare providers by keeping them informed of appointment changes and ensuring they stay on schedule.
  • Handle incoming calls, direct them appropriately, and take detailed messages.
  • Manage appointment scheduling, confirmations, and cancellations.
  • Retrieve and respond to voicemail messages.
  • Reschedule missed appointments and ensure accurate daily coverage.
  • Assist with record requests, manage the fax inbox, and scan documents as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical office or similar environment.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
  • Experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW) is a plus.
