Job Title: Paralegal/Contracts Administrator

Morehouse College is seeking a highly skilled Paralegal/Contracts Administrator to join the Office of the General Counsel & Compliance (OGC&C). The successful candidate will provide comprehensive support to the legal team, including contract management, litigation assistance, and research.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the preparation of legal documents, including correspondence, pleadings, and discovery requests.
  • Coordinate and respond to subpoenas and records requests, collecting responsive documents and making necessary redactions.
  • Conduct legal and other research, preparing memoranda summarizing relevant laws and cases, and maintaining and organizing legal files.
  • Communicate with external counsel, court personnel, and other administrative bodies, including submission and filing of legal documents.
  • Assist with project management, process design, and the creation of standard policies and procedures for various legal initiatives.
  • Provide support to the legal team, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and taking minutes.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Previous paralegal experience of a minimum of 5 years in an in-house legal office or law firm
  • Experience in higher education or a similar institutional setting is a plus
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Paralegal certificate preferred
