Job Title: Director of Philanthropy

Blue Mountain Action Council (BMAC) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Philanthropy to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans to raise funds for BMAC through individual donations, events, sponsorships, and grants.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve annual fundraising and communications goals.
  • Provide visionary leadership in partnership with the CEO, board, and management team to build thriving communities.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of fundraising goals and strategies to diversify revenue streams and increase donor engagement and retention.
  • Cultivate and develop excellent donor relations across sectors.
  • Seek out and secure funding opportunities through grants, donations, and partnerships to sustain and expand programmatic efforts or special campaigns.
  • Oversee special fundraising events.
  • Develop and implement communications and marketing strategies to advance strategic fundraising and volunteer goals.
  • Launch a new program to coordinate the recruitment, training, and retention of volunteers and promote community thriving through volunteering.
  • Represent BMAC and promote programs and services at community events.
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and mentor a diverse team of professionals and volunteers.
  • Foster a strength-based, supportive, and innovative culture among staff and volunteers.
  • Provide regular performance feedback, conduct performance evaluations, and support staff development through training and professional growth opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain systems for data collection, analysis, and reporting to track program outcomes, measure impact, and ensure compliance with grant and contractual obligations.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive reports on program effectiveness, achievements, and challenges to stakeholders and funders.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher, or equivalent experience in nonprofit fundraising, communications, marketing, or other related field.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant work experience; including at least two (2) years in a supervisory role.
  • Demonstrated experience raising over $1 million preferred.
  • Experience with supervising staff and recruiting and managing volunteers.
  • Knowledge of community needs, resources, and relationships in our service area of Walla Walla, Columbia, and Garfield counties is strongly preferred.
  • English-Spanish bilingual, bicultural desirable.
