ABOUT THE ROLE . . .
The primary responsibility of this position is to provide support in Project and Environmental Engineering for our manufacturing facilities. This role serves as a key advisor to plant and operations management on project-related and policy matters, assisting technical personnel with various tasks, including the specification, design, procurement, construction, installation, monitoring, and inspection of facilities and equipment.
TYPICAL PROJECTS INCLUDE:
- Implementing engineering modifications and innovative designs to enhance plant efficiency.
- Monitoring facilities and equipment for potential issues, providing engineering expertise to maintenance and production teams to ensure optimal operations.
- Designing, constructing, and overseeing the installation of new systems to meet operational needs and improve profitability.
- Maintaining comprehensive records and executing procedures to comply with regulatory standards and insurance requirements.
- Reviewing engineering drafts and assignments to ensure adherence to established policies and specifications.
- Collaborating with equipment manufacturers, contractors, and vendors to address specific design or operational challenges.
- Organizing and updating facility plans, machinery specifications, and records to maintain an accessible reference library.
- Engaging with maintenance and production supervisors to address specific requests and facilitate discussions with the Facilities group.
- Upholding ISO standards, including the Quality Policy Statement and Quality Control Procedures Manual.
- A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience in the steel and iron foundry sector is advantageous.
- Familiarity with environmental regulatory practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
