Your role will be to provide high-quality, safe, and effective care to patients, members, and families.
Key Responsibilities- Utilize the nursing process to assess patient health status, determine nursing diagnoses, establish goals, and develop, implement, and evaluate the nursing plan of care.
- Complete patient outcomes and address care gaps during patient encounters.
- Accurately document patient data, actions, interventions, and response to treatment according to established policies and guidelines.
- Assist with procedures and monitor patients' responses during and after procedures.
- Participate in the healthcare team to engage patients, families, and caregivers in patient care coordination.
- Lead the nursing response to medical emergencies, if indicated.
- Monitor electronic messaging and emails related to patient or provider requests and manage messages or triage them to physicians, associate practitioners, or others as needed.
- Initiate and monitor IV therapy, medication administration, and other nursing procedures as prescribed by physicians or associate practitioners, and document accordingly.
- Assess patient and family health education needs, provide health teaching and counseling, and evaluate the effectiveness of the education process.
- Conduct outgoing telephone calls to patients requiring follow-up care and preventative outreach.
- Participate in quality improvement activities and initiatives.
- Participate in departmental orientation and training of new staff.
- Minimum one year of RN clinical experience or completion of the Kaiser Permanente Georgia Nurse Residency program.
- Associates degree in nursing.
- Registered Professional Nurse License (Georgia) required at hire.
- Basic Life Support required at hire.
- Minimum three years of clinical experience as a Registered Professional Nurse.
- Bachelors degree in nursing.
- Peds experience preferred.
