About Us

The Software Engineering Institute is a world-class research and development center at Carnegie Mellon University. Our mission is to advance software engineering principles and practices, and we are seeking an experienced Associate Reverse Engineer Researcher to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop new analysis methods and tools for reverse engineering malicious code
  • Collaborate with colleagues to identify and address emerging and complex threats
  • Document and transition results in reports, presentations, and technical exchanges
Requirements
  • BS in Computer Science or related discipline with three (3) years of experience; OR MS in the same fields with one (1) year of experience
  • Strong technical writing experience
  • Ability to handle continual shifting priorities
  • Willingness to travel to various locations to support the SEI's overall mission
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with reverse engineering software binaries
  • Familiarity with common assembly languages (Intel x86, Intel x64, ARM, etc.)
  • Understanding of binary file formats (PE, ELF, Mach-O)
