Overview
Leidos is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our team in Arlington, VA. We are developing unmanned and autonomous ships for the US Government.

Salary
$104,650 - $189,175 per year

Job Description
We design, code, and test software as part of a Scrum team. You will assist in coaching and mentoring junior and mid-level developers. Our team guides projects of significant national importance.

Responsibilities
- Design and develop mission critical software source code
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle
- Serve as an expert technical team member to support troubleshooting and problem solving
- Perform peer reviews of software
- Communicate effectively with internal team members and client team members
- Collaborate with continuous process improvement to help the team improve
- Assist with evaluating field tests
- Explain technical solutions, practices, and procedures to others within the team

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or STEM field plus 8+ years of software development, or 6+ years with a master's degree, and at least 3+ years using Linux and C++
- Significant experience working in a team environment, including experience providing guidance and coaching to other developers
- Experience designing complex systems, taking into account performance and user requirements
- Exposure to one or more of the following: high availability, sensor fusion, target tracking, path planning, communications systems, or military systems integration
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with the Atlassian tool suite
- Familiarity with automated build processes (Bamboo, Jenkins, etc.)
- Familiarity with game theory, artificial intelligence, petri nets, safety critical software
- Demonstrable problem-solving skills
- Active Secret Security Clearance
