About the Role

At Blue Origin, we're pushing the boundaries of space exploration and development. As a Fluid Systems Production Engineer III: Upper Stage, you'll play a critical role in designing, developing, and manufacturing fluid systems for our New Glenn launch vehicle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, development, and testing of fluid systems, with a focus on reducing cost and improving efficiency.
  • Develop and implement design improvements to increase production rate and quality.
  • Drive design for manufacturability and update assembly and test procedures for flight hardware.
  • Design, route, and optimize complex fluid subsystems, including pressurization, pneumatics, propellant utilization, and cryogenic systems.
  • Work with fluid components, such as solenoid valves, pneumatic valves, regulators, pressure vessels, and instrumentation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver completed designs and analysis reports.
Requirements
  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in engineering.
  • 5+ years of professional engineering experience with complex fluid systems.
  • Demonstrated experience with spacecraft or launch vehicle fluid system component design or test or manufacturing.
  • Practical understanding of thermodynamics and fluid mechanics.
  • Solid understanding of fluid components, fabrication, integration processes, and quality control.
  • Working knowledge of materials and treatments.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with hydrazine and/or cryogenic helium, hydrogen, and oxygen systems.
  • Solid understanding of cryogenic material properties and testing.
  • Experience with component and system testing, troubleshooting, and data acquisition systems.
  • Experience with the application and use of welding.
  • Project management skills, including supplier management, scheduling, and budget tracking.
