The Branch Manager is accountable for ensuring exceptional service is provided to both internal and external members, while overseeing branch sales, service, and operational functions to ensure they operate smoothly and efficiently. This position involves providing leadership, training, and supervision to the branch team, as well as driving new membership, deposits, and loans for the credit union by maintaining outstanding member service.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Exhibit enthusiastic support for the corporate mission, core values, and long-term objectives by performing job duties in accordance with bylaws, regulations, and established service standards.
  2. Deliver service to both internal and external members that aligns with the credit union's Service Promises and meets established service goals.
  3. Adhere to CCU's Service Promises when assisting members or colleagues to ensure timely responsiveness to individual needs, promoting teamwork and respect for the contributions of others.
  4. Assist in achieving departmental goals while adhering to all credit union policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
  5. Manage direct reports to maximize productivity and efficiency, including hiring, directing job assignments, and monitoring staff performance.
  6. Coordinate activities of the retail branch team, communicating essential information regarding sales, marketing initiatives, and operational changes.
  7. Oversee scheduling for branch team members, ensuring readiness for business operations and timely service for all members.
  8. Assist with compliance audits and ensure adherence to daily balancing procedures.
  9. Contribute to the branch's profitability through cost controls and marketing efforts, while monitoring key products and sales.
  10. Foster a positive sales environment through education on credit union products and services, coaching team members to maximize cross-selling opportunities.
  11. Provide telephone support by addressing member inquiries and resolving issues in a professional manner.
  12. Maintain ongoing communication with supervisors regarding pertinent issues and developments.
  13. Ensure maximum security is upheld concerning cash and operating procedures in compliance with established policies.
  14. Conduct necessary activities related to branch maintenance and communicate facility needs to management.
  15. Ensure accurate completion of assigned operational reports.
  16. Maintain loan and membership portfolios in alignment with branch goals, applying sound decision-making techniques.
  17. Develop and implement necessary steps to support policy and procedural changes.
  18. Participate in training sessions and meetings as required, actively engaging in functions geared toward employee development.
  19. Follow policies related to regulatory compliance to ensure adherence to current regulations.
  20. Perform other related duties as assigned and contribute to special projects as needed.

Position Requirements

These specifications are general guidelines based on the minimum experience normally considered essential for satisfactory performance in this role. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for successful job performance:

  • Associate's degree from a two-year college or university; or one (1) or more years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Intermediate experience in branch management and knowledge of compliance regulations, operational policies, and credit union products.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret business documents and solve complex problems.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to lead and train staff effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to cross-sell and explain credit union products confidently.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to convey information clearly.
  • Valid driver's license and vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage, if required for job duties.

The incumbent must be able to perform this position safely, without endangering the health or safety of themselves or others.
