Job Summary

We are seeking qualified temporary part-time faculty members to teach lower division classes in various courses or topics in the Social Sciences department at the University of New Mexico's Gallup Branch.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach face-to-face classes in the Social Sciences department
  • Develop and deliver lower division courses (1000/2000 level) in the Spring, Summer, and Fall 2024 semesters
  • Meet with students during assigned times, including evenings or weekends
  • Content delivery, assignment development, grading assignments, reporting of grades, and assessment of student learning
Requirements
  • Master's degree in the discipline or subfield in which you are applying
  • Successful completion of at least 18 graduate credit hours in an accredited program in the discipline or subfield for which you are applying
  • PhD in the discipline for which you are applying (preferred)
  • Successful teaching experience in a post-secondary institution or successful teaching in a community college
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities
Compensation

Adjunct Faculty are compensated on the basis of their credentials and credit hour course loads, as follows:

  • Terminal Degree, plus 12 hours College teaching: $1,058.60 per credit hour
  • Terminal Degree, less than 12 hours College teaching: $1,016.06 per credit hour
  • Master's Degree, plus 12 hours College teaching: $969.76 per credit hour
  • Master's Degree, less than 12 hours College teaching: $920.95 per credit hour
