Job Overview:

The Data Scientist SME will lead a team in developing AI/ML capabilities supporting the Motion GEOINT Tradecraft Modernization project. The team will work closely with NGA offices, SETA contractors, and other contractors to transition existing algorithms, develop new ones, and modify the codebase for NGA CORE. All work will be conducted at the TS/SCI level and completed on-site at a SCIF in Herndon, VA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect and analyze statistics from multiple sources to identify trends and gain insights.
  • Communicate informed conclusions and recommendations to leadership.
  • Strategize and identify opportunities to collect new data, explore and mine data from various angles, and determine its meaning.
  • Communicate data findings to business and IT leaders to influence how the organization approaches business challenges.
  • Finds and recommends new uses for existing data sources, designs and builds new data processes, and builds large, complex data sets.
  • Conducts statistical modeling and experiment design, tests and validates predictive models.
  • Builds web prototypes and performs data visualization.
  • Conducts scalable data research on and off the cloud.
  • Develops customized algorithms to solve analytical problems with incomplete data sets and implements automated processes for efficiently producing scale models.
  • Collaborates with database engineers and other scientists to develop, refine, and scale data management and analytics procedures.
  • Implements new or enhanced software designed to access and handle data more efficiently.
  • Trains the data management team on new or updated procedures.
  • Writes and implements quality procedures.

Qualifications & Competencies:

  • PhD in a related field.
  • 15+ Years Experience.
  • Active TS/SCI DoD Clearance.
  • Leading, designing solutions to problems, accountable for results.
  • Requires a complete and thorough knowledge of the tradecraft.
  • Has considerable demonstrated experience and has shown skills to be the best of their peers.
  • Ability to oversee others in their work.
  • Must meet all of the services required and provide direction to others in performing these duties.
  • Expected to provide senior-level advice to senior leadership in NGA and the IC at the office and directorate level.
  • Expected to periodically advise organizations outside of the area they are normally providing support.
  • Collaboration is a normal part of their duties.

AEVEX Aerospace provides a reasonable range of compensation. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific location. The range of starting pay for this position is for the listed location only.

Salary Range

$240,000 - $260,000USD
