Chief Operating Officer

A senior leadership position is available for a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead the operational excellence and share growth of a growing building supply industry company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in strategic thinking, problem-solving, and leadership.
The COO will be responsible for benchmarking and leading operational excellence, building and implementing competitive sales, marketing, and manufacturing processes, and ensuring that share growth goals are realized through competitive levels of risk and investment.
The COO will lead and expect commitment, truthfulness, and transparency from the team, and will be responsible for making well-informed and timely decisions. The COO will also be responsible for formulating strategy by studying major competitor's strengths and weaknesses, and driving the company towards investments in market indicated competitive advantages.
The COO will work closely with the CEO, CFO, and CSCO to ensure that the company's operational strategy and its execution support customer and business partner needs and align well with expectations.
The ideal candidate will have experience as a senior leader, preferably as a COO or similar, and will possess excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent leadership and interpersonal abilities.
The COO will be responsible for managing and optimizing financial performance, developing budgets and key performance indicators (KPIs), and reporting results to leadership. The COO will also be responsible for anticipating potential risks and implementing strategies that mitigate them, and developing and maintaining robust contingency plans that ensure business continuity.
The COO will be a patient listener, a collaborative and motivated team builder, and a recruiter, trainer, and leader of high-performance sales and manufacturing teams. The COO will also be responsible for setting clear performance expectations and providing ongoing coaching and feedback, and for inspiring commitment through delegation, encouragement, compromise, and mentoring.
The COO will be responsible for fostering a curious, continuous improvement, and innovation-focused culture, and for balancing goal realization commitments with operational needs. The COO will also be responsible for evaluating and implementing technology that enhances operational efficiency, and for ensuring that the company operates within relevant laws, regulations, and standards.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in business administration, engineering, or a related field, and an MBA is preferred. The candidate will also possess a personality that is insightful, competitive, analytical, forward-thinking, and persistently curious, and will have integrity-centered, naturally collaborative, and inherently net-positive personal values.
