Position Summary & Key Areas of Responsibility

The Senior Corporate Accountant will be a key member of the corporate controllers group, responsible for interpreting and applying complex accounting rules to a range of various accounting duties in support of the broader Finance and Accounting Team. Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing the filing of the Company's external financial reports, including all 10-Q's, 10-K's, and certain 8-K's filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
  • Cooperating with Legal and HR to prepare and file the Company's annual proxy statement.
  • Supporting the Investor Relations function with the preparation and accuracy of publicly shared materials, such as press releases and corresponding exhibits, investor presentations, and other supporting materials.
  • Preparing certain account reconciliations and journal entries to support the monthly and quarterly close process.
  • Assisting the corporate accounting team in completing monthly and quarterly close activities.
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements for the corporate accounting area, including opportunities for automation.
  • Providing oversight and coaching to team members and working in a collaborative manner with other parts of the business.
  • Serving as a liaison with our external auditors to support their quarterly reviews and annual audit.
  • Researching and providing recommendations on complex accounting transactions.
  • Ensuring relevant processes stay in compliance with all internal policies and SOX controls, including maintaining adequate documentation of control performance.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent concentration.
  • Working knowledge of GAAP.
  • Ability to read and understand accounting pronouncements and accounting guides.
  • 3 to 4 years of experience in public accounting firm or corporate accounting at a public company.
  • Strong verbal, written, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a vigorous attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
  • Ability to self-direct and multitask in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
