Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Dietitian to join our team at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health. As a Clinical Dietitian, you will play a critical role in establishing standards and methodologies of medical nutrition therapy for patients and staff, and delivering direct patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement medical nutrition therapy plans for patients and staff
  • Provide education and counseling on nutrition and wellness to patients and staff
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive patient care
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research and developments in nutrition and healthcare
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and Registered Dietitian status (RD / RDN) from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Commission on Dietetic Registration
  • Washington State Certification
  • Specialty board certifications as needed per area & assignment
  • Working knowledge of anatomy, physiology, chemistry, biochemistry, pharmacology, and behavioral sciences
  • An understanding of therapeutic nutrition
  • A working knowledge of safety and sanitation practices for food science
  • Counseling skills, the ability to negotiate, work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary environment and strong math skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree
  • Two years of experience in an acute care hospital; OR an advanced degree plus one year of acute care experience and one year of outpatient experience
  • Prefer a minimum of 2 years experience in pediatric and eating disorder counseling
