Job Title: Registered Dietitian

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Dietitian to join our team at Seattle Indian Health Board. As a Registered Dietitian, you will play a critical role in providing culturally attuned nutrition care to our vibrant community.

Job Summary:

The Registered Dietitian will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide nutrition assessment, intervention, and counseling to relatives with multiple nutrition-related illnesses, comorbidities, or risk factors. This position requires a strong desire to serve the American Indian/Alaska Native community and a commitment to Indigenous values and practices.

Responsibilities:
  • Use the Nutrition Care Process to provide nutrition assessment, intervention, and counseling as needed.
  • Collaborate with SIHB care teams in interdisciplinary meetings and on the clinic floor to ensure wraparound care for all relatives.
  • Contribute to preventive care at SIHB through nutrition programming and group nutrition education.
  • Provide oversight in meals/nutrition offered in onsite classes to ensure food safety and culturally relevant, well-balanced ingredients.
  • Provide care in multiple clinic locations as assigned.
  • Support the Nutrition Program Director with developing, assessing, and maintaining policies and procedures pertaining to NFS services.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors or master's degree in nutrition.
  • Registered Dietitian credential.
  • Professional license or certification to provide medical nutrition therapy in Washington state.
  • WA food handler's card within 60 days of hire.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present information in a group setting.
  • A strong desire to serve the American Indian/Alaska Native community.
Work Environment:

SIHB operates on a 4x10 work schedule with occasional extra hours on evenings or weekends for events, Saturday clinics, and other activities.
